I was satisfied with my Gentoo experience on my laptop so I decided to install it on my UEFI desktop, however, I ran into a lot of problems with systemrescuecd not recognizing my wireless card and other minor setbacks, which forced me to use the KUbuntu LiveUSB to install Gentoo.

So all was going well, partitioned drives (with EFI FAT32 partition and such), but when I tried to create the mountpoint for /mnt/gentoo in the LiveUSB, it complained that I couldn't, and that it was a read-only file system. Answers?

I would also like suggestions for building an UEFI Gentoo system, because in the past I've used rather old hardware until I threw together a new PC recently.

ty and peace

If your live /mnt is not writable (weird) use /tmp or whatever else is writable.
