Hello everyone,

I am trying to maintain a gentoo installation in a remote system and I am facing some difficulties using the emerge --update command.

I am executing the following command:
Code:
emerge --update --newuse --deep --with-bdeps=y @world

and the output I am receiving is the following:
Code:
!!! Repository 'kde-sunset' is missing masters attribute in '/var/lib/layman/kde-sunset/metadata/layout.conf'
!!! Set 'masters = gentoo' in this file for future compatibility
!!! Repository 'qting-edge' is missing masters attribute in '/var/lib/layman/qting-edge/metadata/layout.conf'
!!! Set 'masters = gentoo' in this file for future compatibility
Error during set creation: Redefinition of set 'qt-extras-live' (sections: 'qt sets', 'qting-edge sets')

 * IMPORTANT: 7 news items need reading for repository 'gentoo'.
 * Use eselect news to read news items.

 * IMPORTANT: 2 config files in '/etc/portage' need updating.
 * See the CONFIGURATION FILES section of the emerge
 * man page to learn how to update config files.
Calculating dependencies |

!!! Problem resolving dependencies for net-analyzer/wireshark from @selected
... done!

!!! The ebuild selected to satisfy "net-analyzer/wireshark" has unmet requirements.
- net-analyzer/wireshark-1.10.5::gentoo USE="caps crypt filecaps gtk2 ipv6 netlink pcap qt4 ssl zlib -adns -doc -doc-pdf -geoip -gtk3 -kerberos -libadns -lua -portaudio (-selinux) -smi"

The following REQUIRED_USE flag constraints are unsatisfied:
    at-most-one-of ( gtk2 gtk3 qt4 )

The above constraints are a subset of the following complete expression:
    at-most-one-of ( gtk2 gtk3 qt4 ) ssl? ( crypt )

(dependency required by "@selected" [set])
(dependency required by "@world" [argument])

Also the output produced from the emerge --info command is:
Code:
!!! Repository 'kde-sunset' is missing masters attribute in '/var/lib/layman/kde-sunset/metadata/layout.conf'
!!! Set 'masters = gentoo' in this file for future compatibility
!!! Repository 'qting-edge' is missing masters attribute in '/var/lib/layman/qting-edge/metadata/layout.conf'
!!! Set 'masters = gentoo' in this file for future compatibility
Error during set creation: Redefinition of set 'qt-extras-live' (sections: 'qt sets', 'qting-edge sets')

The main thing that portage is complaining about is that you need to choose an interface for net-analyzer/wireshark. The quickest way to get it to work is to go into /etc/portage/package.use and add a line for wireshark.

Code:
net-analyzer/wireshark  -gtk2 -gtk3 -qt4

However you need to remove one of the negitive signs, to select the interface you want. so "gtk2 -gtk3 -qt4" would select witeshark to run with the gtk2 interface.

The other warnings need to be dealt with so that portage will continue to work when you upgrade in the future.
