Hi,
Initiated by a failing cronjob, i grep'ed trough /etc for "var\/lock" and found some stuff using that. Howver, on my System /var/lock does not exist anymore.
Iirc the "correct" location would be /run/lock?
Should I report a bug on packages still using /var/lock?
I think I remember seeing some messages about this from portage when I still had /var/lock (and at some time I just deleted /var/lock). I could symlink /var/lock to /run/lock, but if /run/lock is the "new way" to do things, i like to keep it deleted and update everything to use /run/lock. |

hanfi,
/run/lock is the new way but until everything is updated, /var/run should be a symlink pointing to /run _________________ Regards,
