Hi

After an 'emerge --sync' i did 'emerge -p --update --newuse --deep @world',
but this did not work because of a number of 'slot conflicts'.
Amongst others:
Code:
dev-libs/boost:0

  (dev-libs/boost-1.53.0::gentoo, installed) pulled in by
    dev-libs/boost:0/1.53= required by (dev-cpp/libcmis-0.3.1::gentoo, installed)
    dev-libs/boost:0/1.53= required by (dev-libs/liborcus-0.3.0::gentoo, installed)

  (dev-libs/boost-1.49.0-r2::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) pulled in by
    =dev-libs/boost-1.49* required by (app-office/libreoffice-bin-4.0.4.2::gentoo, installed)

The strange thing is that only libreoffice depends on those to libs:
Code:
 # equery depends dev-cpp/libcmis
 * These packages depend on dev-cpp/libcmis:
app-office/libreoffice-bin-4.0.4.2 (>=dev-cpp/libcmis-0.3.1:0.3)
 # equery depends dev-libs/liborcus
 * These packages depend on dev-libs/liborcus:
app-office/libreoffice-bin-4.0.4.2 (=dev-libs/liborcus-0.3*)

So in a way libreoffice is creating a slot conflict via the libraries it depends on...

The other weird thing is
Code:
sys-libs/cracklib:0

  (sys-libs/cracklib-2.8.19::gentoo, installed) pulled in by
    sys-libs/cracklib[python] required by (x11-misc/revelation-0.4.14::gentoo, installed)

  (sys-libs/cracklib-2.8.19::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) pulled in by
    (no parents that aren't satisfied by other packages in this slot)

As far as i can see, the two versions mentioned here are exactly the same - why is there a conflict?

The same with media-libs/lcms:
Code:
media-libs/lcms:0

  (media-libs/lcms-1.19::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) pulled in by
    (no parents that aren't satisfied by other packages in this slot)

  (media-libs/lcms-1.19::gentoo, installed) pulled in by
    >=media-libs/lcms-1.15:0[python] required by (media-libs/sk1libs-0.9.1::gentoo, installed)

Ia lso don't understand what "no parents that aren't satisfied by other packages in this slot" means.

Can anybody help me resolve these 'conflicts'?
Thank You
Jody
