How to verify Whirlpool checksums that can be found in .DIGESTS files?
To verify sha512 I use
Code:
shasum -c file.DIGEST

How the corresponding command for Whirlpool checksums looks like?
In Gentoo handbook there's only command to calculate file checksum:
Code:
openssl dgst -r -whirlpool stage3-amd64-<release>.tar.bz2

You can emerge app-crypt/md5deep which contains "whirlpooldeep" which works similar to familiar md5sum etc.
