After upgrading dev-db/mysql from 5.1.67 to 5.1.70, I
Code:
# mysql_upgrade --socket=/home/acoswt/.local/share/akonadi/socket-PrimaPratica/mysql.socket

But it fails
Code:
Looking for 'mysql' as: mysql
Looking for 'mysqlcheck' as: mysqlcheck
Running 'mysqlcheck' with connection arguments: '--port=3306' '--socket=/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' '--socket=/home/acoswt/.local/share/akonadi/socket-PrimaPratica/mysql.socket'
Running 'mysqlcheck' with connection arguments: '--port=3306' '--socket=/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' '--socket=/home/acoswt/.local/share/akonadi/socket-PrimaPratica/mysql.socket'
akonadi.collectionattributetable                   OK
akonadi.collectionmimetyperelation                 OK
akonadi.collectionpimitemrelation                  OK
akonadi.collectiontable                            OK
akonadi.flagtable                                  OK
akonadi.mimetypetable                              OK
akonadi.parttable                                  OK
akonadi.pimitemflagrelation                        OK
akonadi.pimitemtable                               OK
akonadi.resourcetable                              OK
akonadi.schemaversiontable                         OK
Running 'mysql_fix_privilege_tables'...
ERROR 1049 (42000): Unknown database 'mysql'
FATAL ERROR: Upgrade failed

Any idea ?

BTW : I know that going from 5.1.67 to 5.1.70, might not actually deserve a mysql_upgrade, however, I remember having had problems in the past between two releases... so... d'better be safe than sorry.

Sounds like it has tried to move on to the standard database called mysql and that bit failed. Do you have that database?
