xvfb blocking www-client/chromium

Chromium build stops somewhere in the middle with scant error messages. Reading the log I see if stopped when it couldn't find xvfb. I also note that portage didn't pick this up as a dependency, and there's no USE flag to set for xvfb. I did recompile xorg-server with xvfb enabled, as this isn't picked up by default. But this didn't have any effect as Chromium still won't build past the original point..

Where can I find xvfb to satisfy this dependency, and what's it doing in a browser?
