I installed xine and xiond-dvdnav, but i cant play encrypted dvds. How do i get it to automatically use the dvdnav plugin. the plugindir (according to xine-config is /usr/lib/xine, but /usr/local/lib/xine has more stuff. However, when i symlinked /usr/lib/xine to /usr/local/lib/xine, i still couln't play the movie.
Or can i raise the volume in ogle? Ive been using it, but the movie plays soft even w/ the speakers all the way up. Other than that its fine. |

Try using "aumix" to change your volume of your sound card, if you're going to use Ogle (seems to be the easier route). If you don't have it, emerge aumix should do the trick. Move up the PCM volume and Master volume to 90% each (I wouldn't go above 90-95% depending on sound card, you'll get buzzing)... _________________ Even a stopped clock gives the right time twice a day. |

If you emerged both xine and xine-dvdnav, a button labeled "NAV" should automatically be added to xine's GUI.
Just click on that button, to start watching you dvd. If it still doesn't work, you might have forgotten to uncomment and adapt the dvd settings in /etc/defsd.conf.
If all fails, please post the exact error message you are getting...
