this isn't 1960. shouldn't have to pull my kid out of a religious assembly at state school.

You said that your child felt uncomfortable - or you felt uncomfortable with attendance of an overtly religious
gathering. Now you're saying that you don't want to pull your child out - it ain't the hokey-cokey.

Hmm. I gave an example of a propaganda coup for the ROP, no matter if I tune in or out in that instance. You repeated your
initial argument.

wtf is a christian assembly...

I'd be surprised if they're as overtly religious as they were when I happened to have
the pleasure, the last one I attended was a few years back - not much
bible thumping there.

Nevertheless, Juniper is attempting to draw parallels between this and a national TV
broadcast. Which is a bit strange.

I am surprised you think it's ok to have a religious assembly in a state school. would you feel the same if it was a muslim assembly? I would.

they are doing it for ratings and they will be surprised by the results. as i said, what do you propose? banning it? It's going to be boring and no one will watch it. it will get yanked in a week or a month.

There is no separation of Church and State. Your head of state is also the head of your state church, which is the Church of England. So while in England, it doesn't surprise me that they have a Christian religious assembly in a state school. And no, it would be different were it an RoP gathering, as you are in the UK (with the CoE) instead of Saudi Arabia (with the RoP).
