and what about the support of such a machine in 2013 ?

Sometimes, I forget to update the Octane and/or IOC3 metadriver patch. Please file a bug when this happens, as I don't check the forums very often. Please try the 3.10.x mips-sources ebuild in the tree -- that should at least apply.
