Trying to build an application I've find a library package in gentoo overlay, which installs libname.so.shortversion and libname.so.fullversion, bit don't installs libname.so.
But the application expects it libname.so and fails to build.
Is it (missing libname.so file in installation) an error?
And, if so, whos error it is?
Ebuild?
Dependency (library) upstream?
Or application upstream? _________________ Excuse me my English. |

Why don't you just submit a bug report to gentoo about it (since it affects a ebuild), and let the devs deal with it. A good portion of the devs works with upstream too, so can easily forward the fix to the correct upstream as necessary.
Just a side comment, it's better if you stop trying to hide stuff, and tell us the specifics straight out |

Yes it's an error of the upstream build-system, which should install the relevant link in DESTDIR, during make install.
As stated, file a bug and it'll be patched in Gentoo, and upstreamed for the next version. |
