Hello all!
I am about to configure my bootloader using grub. I plan on installing windows 7 pro to dual boot with gentoo, but I have not set up another partition yet for this purpose. Should this partition be extended or primary? Also would it be easier to do it now, or can i edit this configuration later without much trouble? |

windows will overwrite the mbr which will require setting up grub on the mbr a second time.
For legacy grub, writing a menu entry for windows in grub.conf is fine and harmless.
If when you say grub you mean grub2, don't bother, grub2 tries to be automatic. _________________ Defund the FCC. |

Before going ahead, look up BCDEdit - you might not with to mess with
your windows boot process.
