Since Akonadi can't find the mysql service, it can't start - I've checked file:///usr/share/mysql and all I find is mysqld_multi.server, which akonadi can't start.

Partly Solved:

Turns out I did not have mysql added to the default run level (akonadi can't start it automatically) and I may have to configure the damn thing (supposedly akonadi can do that).

Still need a copy of a working akonadi config so I can get it fully working.

Edit:

Did a clean install with kdepim-meta (it's working but still don't understand why)
