KDE 3 does not unmerge

Hi.

I did an emerge unmerge kde and it reported that the package was unmerged. Then, df -k showed me that the free space was the same as before (which couldn't be true since KDE is huge).

I rebooted and then called kdm and to my surprise it worked. The /usr/kde/3/* stuff is all there.

If I issue emerge unmerge kde again it says it is no longer installed.

How do I *really* remove it?
