[Split from "My First Rifle." --pjp]

Hold on now: maybe the two-year-old was attacking him with her blanky. Kentucky does have a stand your ground law.

You're thinking of the Stand Your Crib law.

By the way, I don't know if you got the memo or not, but Trayvon Martin was the criminal, not the victim.

No he was a kid on his way home from the shops who got shot by an asshole with a gun.

I know you got sent a copy of the memo but I guess it must have burned up in your insanity-field.

No, he was a punk-ass criminal, high on drugs, who has been proven to have without justification jumped, assaulted, and battered a law-abiding citizen who was doing nothing more than patrolling his neighborhood to prevent an ongoing series of break-ins, burglaries, and vandalism. That's why there's no more Kool Aid about it coming through on your propaganda hose.

You forgot the part where the kid was on top of the asshole, pounding the back of the asshole's head against the concrete sidewalk.

Your grasp of reality is as firm as an eel in jello.

I bet your avatar he's going to get convicted.

You still here? Okay, I'll take that bet: if Zimmerman is convicted of what he's been charged with (2nd degree murder of Trayvon Martin), I will give up this avatar and never use it or another of Captain Sir Richard Burton again. If he is not, you will give up your avatar and never use it or another of Mr. Colbert again. Are we agreed?

I didn't specify. Found guilty of any charge in relation to the shooting.

And the usual deal is winner chooses loser's avatar for a few weeks. Make it four.

Nice backpedal. Cabinet quality right there, though not one of the more polished positions.

No. You flapped your lips, and those terms are quite reasonable and consistent with your claim. You can't quibble your way out of it now. Man up or shut up.

Yeah that is really lame. He'll probably be found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and get a slap on the wrists. For all intents and purposes, that's a win for him.

Or not even that. For him to forgo a jury trial, which would very likely exonerate him entirely given the evidence now on the table, he would have to be offered a plea deal for something quite minimal like "reckless endangerment".

Pffffttt.... It appears mcgruff's huevos have shrunken in size. I guess you have to be a man before you can man up.

Either Zimmerman done wrong and gets convicted or he din dun no wrong and he don't. That's perfectly clear.

I'm not letting BK weasel out on a technicality if there's a plea bargain or something.

Just taking care to separate fact from fiction, same as always.

For example, did you know Zimmerman wasn't supposed to carry a gun?

You are the one weaseling, and everyone knows.

You specify that he was just walking home, and out of the blue is shot dead.

mcgruff wrote:

You must be referring to the above situation.

You must be referring to the suspect CNN reports that stated the Neighborhood Watch people said he was not supposed to have a gun. Unfortunately for them, there is this thing called the Second Amendment, and since Mr. Zimmerman had all of the licences and permits required by City, County, State, and Federal law, you once again prove that you have no concept of the difference between fact and fiction.

It's easy to take up an extreme viewpoint when there's no blowback but are you prepared to take the bet and put your ass on the line?

You're the one trying to weasel his way out. I'm ready to make an honest bet, but you' don't have the balls. You claim that Zimmerman blew Martin away, and but you're only willing to bet that he gets convicted of 'something'. You're quibbling. Moreover, you're trying to make a bullshit bet where you put nothing at risk. You don't have the manhood to back up your strident, woman-like bitching and moaning. You're just making a fool of yourself and further damaging what remains of the tatters of your credibility. I'm fine with "winner chooses loses avatar" (say, for a month). But what we're betting on is whether he is convicted of the charge against him (which is 2nd Degree Murder). Put up or shut up.

You claim Zimmerman did not do anything wrong. I claim he did. What's the test? The test is that he gets convicted of an offense - or not. That's simple and fair. Allowing yourself a loophole to weasel out of the bet if he is convicted of a lesser charge is not fair.

I knew you wouldn't go through with it.
