i have a few errors with my winex install.

1) when i try and run the winex script, i get this error:
Code:

chris@chris cdrom $ winex install.exe
/usr/bin/winex: line 28: syntax error near unexpected token `$RUNWINE'
/usr/bin/winex: line 28: `exec $RUNWINE $@'

No matter what i do to the script, it keeps spitting out this error. i've even tried changing the interpreter but nothing has changed. Please help.

2) When i try to load up warcraft III (using the real bin in the secret winex spot) it will sit there and grunt, tell me it cant read fonts then kick the CPU usage up to 100% and hang there. HUH?!?! please help!!!

Thanks!
Pudd.

okay, maybe i could have provided a little more information :)

When I start it, it complains about my /c/windows/fonts dir, which doesnt exist. This isnt a problem because i can install/run tony hawk 2 and notepad (and all the other programs included with winex). So the problem is with the game.

Winex doesnt crash, it gets stuck in a loop. no matter how long i leave it it wont come out of it.

Here is the output of winex -debugmsg +warn+err /mnt/cdrom/install.exe
Code:

chris@chris cdrom $ winex -debugmsg +warn+err install.exe
err:font:ReadFontDir Can't open directory "/c/windows/Fonts"

CPU usage = 100% here, so *CTRL + C*

/usr/winex/bin/winex: line 4: 27295 Terminated              env LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/winex/lib WINEPREFIX=~/.winex /usr/winex/bin/wine ${*}
chris@chris cdrom $

Oh, and by the way. i hacked portage to use my pre-downloaded winex cvs tree. So its using the latest CVS tree, but its installed with portage (non-portage reaped the same results). When i used the script that comes with the bins (script aquired from somewhere on these forums...) it gives me a bash error as shown above :\

Plea to anybody who can help ;)

if running from cvs , I found the best way to install it was to run the ~wine/tool/wineinstall if I remember right, I didnt have much joy with the cvs :( although that was due to my own fault now that ive learnt a bit more, but I m using the tar/gz from transgaming at the moment found it HEAPS easier to get warcraft running nice with it .....sorry I cant help furthur ........(If you decide to support TG and get the bins let me know I got it working great with the tar/gz :D )

Cheers
Dale
