'inverted' screensaver behaviour --- Radeon

This seems to be related to the Radeon driver on my laptop as I'm running same 'other' software (KDE 4.10.1) on other machines without problems. OK, the kernel is tuxonice-3.71 whereas the other machines are running gentoo sources 3.8.2.

There is no screensaver set up on the laptop but after a few minutes, if I move the mouse or press a key, the screen goes blank and stays blank. That's why I describe it as an inverted screensaver; it only happens if I leave the machine alone for a few minutes. Sometimes after five minutes or so the display will revive.

Anyone else seeing this ? I couldn't find anything in the Gentoo bug tracker.
