I installed boinc from portage. I am having trouble getting boincmgr it to connect to the daemon (localhost). It won't connect as regular user, nor as root UNLESS I open a terminal and cd /usr/bin && boincmgr.

That's the only way it will connect, as root, running specifically from /usr/bin as my working directory.

Any help?

Solution:

I just added

Code:
username localhost = NOPASSWD: /usr/bin/boincmgr

to my /etc/sudoers, then created a script boinc.sh and added it to my xfce menu

Code:
cd /usr/bin && sudo boincmgr
