Though not called PTSD, the disorder has been documented in the US as far back as the aftermath of the War Between the States.

Yeah, it used to be called "shellshock" in the World Wars and it probably existed since that scene in 2001 where the Moonwatcher dongs his rival on the noggin with a log. I bet he then turned the log into a spud gun and took out the rest of the posse.

Oh. PTSD is a new product of the Gulf War.

Right. And everybody who has it is a danger to others.

English Bill of Rights 1689 wrote:
That the subjects which are Protestants may have arms for their defence suitable to their conditions and as allowed by law;

The Fundamental Constitutions for the Province of East New Jersey in America,
Anno Domini 1683 wrote:
And that amongst the present Proprietors there are several that declare, that they have no freedom to defend themselves with arms, and others who judge it their duty to defend themselves, wives and children, with arms; it is therefore agreed and consented to, and they the said Proprietors do by these presents agree and consent, that they will not in this case force each other against their respective judgments and consciences; in order whereunto it is Resolved, that on the one side, no man that declares he cannot for conscience sake bear arms, whether Proprietor or planter, shall be at any time put upon so doing in his own person, nor yet upon sending any to serve in his stead. And on the other side, those who do judge it their duty to bear arms for the publick defence, shall have their liberty to do in a legal way.

Blackstone's Commentaries on the Laws of England
Book the First - Chapter the First : Of the Absolute Rights of Individuals wrote:
THE fifth and laft auxiliary right of the fubject, that I fhall at prefent mention, is that of having arms for their defence, fuitable to their condition and degree, and fuch as are allowed by law. Which is alfo declared by the fame ftatute 1 W. & M. ft. 2. c. 2. and is indeed a public allowance, under due reftrictions, of the natural right of refiftance and felf-prefervation, when the fanctions of fociety and laws are found infufficient to reftrain the violence of oppreffion.

Constitution of Pennsylvania - September 28, 1776 wrote:
VIII. That every member of society hath a right to be protected in the enjoyment of life, liberty and property, and therefore is bound to contribute his proportion towards the expence of that protection, and yield his personal service when necessary, or an equivalent thereto: But no part of a man's property can be justly taken from him, or applied to public uses, without his own consent, or that of his legal representatives: ... XIII. That the people have a right to bear arms for the defence of themselves and the state; and as standing armies in the time of peace are dangerous to liberty, they ought not to be kept up; And that the military should be kept under strict subordination to, and governed by, the civil power.

No, that "right to bear arms" crap is something conjured up by batshit insane far-right loons in America, under the influence of the gun "lobby" and so they can get their Slavs back. Civilized people don't defend themselves or each other or protect their liberty; they submit.

We need to ban all guns and use bomb vests and car bombs like the more civilized parts of the world. They are much more effective anyway.

You have to have a license and tag. And a large capacity magazine.

Wikipedia wrote:
White then quickly walked to his former office, reloading his police-issue revolver with hollow-point bullets along the way, and intercepted Milk, asking him to step inside for a moment. Dianne Feinstein heard gunshots and called the police. She found Milk face down on the floor, shot five times, including twice in the head at close range. After identifying both bodies, Feinstein was shaking so badly she required support from the police chief.

In fairness, she did have an indelible life experience. Perhaps she has first hand experience with PTSD after seeing the results of a disgruntled peer, he went politician.

Yeah, and this isn't some obscure member of a state legislature somewhere; this is a long-standing Senator from one of the most populous states in the nation. Veterans groups should give her some serious heart-ache for promoting irrational prejudice against them.

The real problem is not when the US regime will begin to kill American citizens. but when it will stop to kill foreigner citizens outside of the US.

The US regime is not even able to address the basic needs of its own population : the poverty and extreme poverty is growing fast, the good schools are for the rich peoples, the care system is one of the most elitist of all rich countries, and so on. But it use more money than the rest of the world to make war. That's the real problem !

While what you say is basically true, we still seem to be making the same mistakes.

Yes, I am aware that mine is essentially a tu quoque argument, but fuck 'em. We aren't half as bad as they've been. If we were, we'd have annexed most of Europe after World War II.

This is exactly what you have done. This is the US that have military basis all around the world, inclusive in Europe, not Switzerland. And I know that Europe was not better that the US are today. Like any other criminal, they had the opportunity, the mobile and the weapon.

Apparently you don't understand the verb "annex". Also, we have been steadily pulling our forces out of Europe since the end of the Cold War, and now that Europe is almost capable of defending itself again. 10,000 troops will be withdrawn this year, with mostly just NATO stuff remaining (totally by invitation).

I don't want to live into an annex. I live into an independent country, and it is voices here that want to go into the EU, but I will always say no to a contract (the EU constitution) that write several times into the text that the EU cannot have a politic that is contrary to the interests of the NATO, which is lead by the USA and not by invitation. That imply that the EU cannot have its own independent politics, and never I will be part of such a silly farce. EU politicians are puppets, and this is, at the first place, why the EU will ultimately fail.

Here in Switzerland, I can get news from all around the world. They are different points of view of the same reality. In the US, you can take every single cable network and you will always and only get news, in different languages, but from the same unique country, the USA. That imply you will always get the same point of view. So, that's not me that must learn the most.

He apparently knows all about the U.S.A., though. Must have lived here a long time to gain such depth of insight.

They don't think we know that they know the other they is trying to deceive and confuse us. And them. See you can't just think of it in terms of us and them; there are dicks, pussies, and assholes. Or maybe there are pigs, dogs, and sheep, and maybe sheepdogs and wolves, and maybe nearsighted and destructive moles, noisy but useless roosters, and industrious but narrow-minded beavers. And we can't forget all the moronic lemmings.
