sysvinit-2.88-r4 blocking util-linux-2.22.2 [solved]

Problems with emerge or ebuilds? Have a basic programming question about C, PHP, Perl, BASH or something else?

sysvinit-2.88-r4 blocking util-linux-2.22.2 [solved]

I get the following block:

<sys-apps/sysvinit-2.88-r4 ("<sys-apps/sysvinit-2.88-r4" is blocking sys-apps/util-linux-2.22.2)

And looking into the dependencies for these, util-linux have a "!<2.88-r4" for sysvinit and the reversed "!<2.22.2", but that should be satisfied with the above right? (or does "!<" mean "!<=") If satisfied and it should be working, should it be safe to remove one o these, update the other and then reinstall the removed one?

Or is there some other recommended solution?

Thanks.

It says "<sys-apps/sysvinit-2.88-r4" is blocking sys-apps/util-linux-2.22.2" and means exactly what it says.

<sys-apps/sysvinit-2.88-r4 with the < means any older version than 2.88-r4
so the blocker says "Upgrade sysvinit before upgrading util-linux."

emerge -1 sysvinit

or even temporarily emerge -C sysvinit and emerge -1 util-linux
