Hi all,
I just installed a fresh gentoo system.
I did the "usual" gentoo installation and then migrated from OpenRC to systemd (in order to install gnome-3.10).
Installation went fine, however, now I have problems when booting my system:
Most of the time (maybe 4 out of 5 tries) the system does not finish the boot process. I've enabled debug output to see, where the system stops booting. Actually itdoesn't stop, but gets very slow: In between 2 consecutive outputs of systemd, the boot process is interrupted by a couple of seconds, then continues and immediately stops again. Once I waited for more than 20 minutes to see, whether the system finally starts up. However, it looks like I was seeing the same messages over and over again... It looked like a cycle in the boot process.
According to the output on the screen, the system stops/gets slow at different points in time. Sometimes I see more output, sometimes less.
In some rare cases, my internal pc speaker starts beeping like crazy and the boot process freezes.
I have no experience at all with systemd so I don't know where to start...
Anyone encountered the same problem?
Any hints on how I can find the cause of this issue?
Thanks in advance! |
