I've tried adding the softlink suggested here http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-950330-highlight-nvidiadrivers.html, and that

Quote:

ln -s /usr/src/linux/include/generated/uapi/linux/version.h /usr/src/linux/include/linux/version.h

fixed the error I was getting, but now I get

Quote:

*** Unable to determine the target kernel version. ***

This despite the fact that earlier in the emerge, I see

* /usr/src/linux
* Found kernel object directory:
* /lib/modules/3.8.0-gentoo/build
* Found sources for kernel version:
* 3.8.0-gentoo

For the record this is the error without the aforementioned softlink

I have not seen any bug reports on this, but I don't know if this should be entered as a bug. Thanks for any help,
