I've tried adding the softlink suggested here https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-950330-highlight-nvidiadrivers.html, and that Quote: | ln -s /usr/src/linux/include/generated/uapi/linux/version.h /usr/src/linux/include/linux/version.h
| fixed the error I was getting, but now I get Quote: | *** Unable to determine the target kernel version. *** | This despite the fact that earlier in the emerge, I see Quote: | * Found kernel source directory:
* /usr/src/linux
* Found kernel object directory:
* /lib/modules/3.8.0-gentoo/build
* Found sources for kernel version:
* 3.8.0-gentoo
| For the record this is the error without the aforementioned softlink Quote: | echo >&2 " ERROR: Kernel configuration is invalid."; \
echo >&2 " include/generated/autoconf.h or include/config/auto.conf are missing.";\
echo >&2 " Run 'make oldconfig && make prepare' on kernel src to fix it."; \ | I have not seen any bug reports on this, but I don't know if this should be entered as a bug. Thanks for any help,
Fred |
