1st off its partitioning the first 36 or 63 of the /dev/sda1 so i cant install grub to /dev/sda....
really 1st off it does not show the hard drive when running in IDE mode from minimal install iso... switch to scsi mode and now it shows....
gentoo is built up on the drive, LILO looks like its installing everything fine for booting.... AND IT IS.... next problem, it freaks out... with this driver not being compiled in as the suspected culprate Adaptec 7870 SCSI controller
so this questions just where in the kernel should i find the adaptec 7870 scsi controller to compile in?
/dev/sda1 = /boot is JFS
/dev/sda5 = / is xfs
/dev/sda6 = swap
/dev/sda7 = /home is xfs
jfs and xfs are compiled in to the kernel, jfsutils and xfsutils are present
i imagine its in drivers > scsi device support > scsi low level drivers > adaptec aic7xxxfast ???? YES....
next problem, no net... now to dig out the kernel drivers for the wired network interface.... DECchip Tulip (dc2114x) |
