Code:
tux ramaswamy # nano -w /etc/portage/package.license
tux ramaswamy # emerge -av adobe-flash

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!

!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "adobe-flash" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- www-plugins/adobe-flash-11.2.202.270::gentoo (masked by: AdobeFlash-11.x license(s))
A copy of the 'AdobeFlash-11.x' license is located at '/usr/portage/licenses/AdobeFlash-11.x'.

- www-plugins/adobe-flash-11.2.202.262::gentoo (masked by: AdobeFlash-11.x license(s))
- www-plugins/adobe-flash-10.3.183.61::gentoo (masked by: AdobeFlash-10.3 license(s), ~amd64 keyword)
A copy of the 'AdobeFlash-10.3' license is located at '/usr/portage/licenses/AdobeFlash-10.3'.

For more information, see the MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge
man page or refer to the Gentoo Handbook.

tux ramaswamy #

Code:
# >=www-plugins/adobe-flash-11.2.202.270 AdobeFlash-10.3
=app-emulation/virtualbox-bin-4.1.22 PUEL
=sci-geosciences/googleearth-5.1.3535.3218-r1 googleearth
>=sci-geosciences/googleearth-6.2.2.6613 googleearth
=www-plugins/adobe-flash-11.2.202.270

contents of /etc/portage/package.license shown
how ever i edit it still gives the above masked messges.

You need to specify the license or add a wild card ("*") after the adobe-flash entry.

Also the commented out line is trying to accept the wrong license. Refer to your portage output for the updated one.

Apologies if I take a while to respond. I'm currently working on the dematerialization circuit for my blue box.
