ZOMG ban rope!

Exactly, I was about to say there that there's no way children could produce the tensile force which could sever fingers. Too small, too light, too weak, too easily distracted, too difficult to organise into substantial numbers. Just keeping a dozen kids herded together is a major undertaking.

The rope usually used in tug of war is pretty thick. If you use a thin, nylon rope you are asking for issues. I bet that's what they had, but only 2 cents.

Maybe they were wearing rings. Rings can take fingers off or strip them like leftovers from a chicken wing eating contest.

Actually, spicy chicken can cause damage to the ring, especially if combined with 12 pints of lager. Real ring reaming combo. |

This wouldn't have happened with proper regulation and heavy taxation. Rope is not a toy.
