|
|
Hi
Has anyone been using irssi successfully?
my problem is switching windows.
just to mention that when run irssi in debian on virtual box I can do everything, switch windows with the ALT+number key, view and switch windows with the /window command. so I know I'm doing it right.
in gentoo I can't switch windows using ALT+number, tried also ALT+SHIFT+number, ESC+number but none works.
I tried with gnome terminal, urxvt and xterm and it doesn't work with any of them.
the /window command just doesn't work, I try /window goto 1 but nothing happens.
I tried following this guide on irssi and set this in ~/.Xdefaults but it didn't help
| Code: |
URxvt*eightBitInput: false
URxvt*metaSendsEscape: true
URxvt*modifier: alt
|
also tried URxvt*meta8:False in .Xdefaults but didn't help also.
reading many thread I suspect it has something to do with my locale
my $LANG is: en_US.utf8
I've rad many threads, all lot talking about vim and alt key, but couldn't fix.
any help will be appreciated.
Thank you. |

I use the ESC-1, ESC-2, etc. key sequences in Gentoo/irssi (net-irc/irssi-0.8.15-r1) and it works fine out of the box on gnome-terminal, ssh, and console...
The issue with the /window command not working is kind of worrysome, /window 2 does switch to window 2 just like esc-2 for me... Might be irssi built wrong? I don't know... _________________ Core-i7-2700K@4.1GHz/8GB RAM/180GB SSD/Intel HD3000 graphics
