|
Hi,
I just dit a fresh install of gentoo+gnome and after the login manager I only get a screen with three icons (computer, file explorer and ?? I don't remember.
The menu is not empty as I could see in some older posts but there is no menu at all.
According to the gnome how to, I first added :
into ~/.initrc
then did
| Code: | | sed -i '1i\export XDG_MENU_PREFIX=gnome-' ~/.xinitrc |
no menu!?
After that I removed export XDG_MENU_PREFIX=gnome-
no menu!?
After I remove completely ~/.xinitrc
no menu!?

Thank you for help.
I am not sure I understand. I already have gdm running . I don't know what is systemd for ?
Should I have systemd comming with the emerging of gnome or should I emerge it ? _________________ If you happen to meet a poor and hungry man, giving him a fish is a good and necessary action but teaching him how to fish is a far better one. Please keep this in mind when helping me. |
