I was stunned when I watched Terminator 2 the first time as a child and I'm still stunned!! Although we might all agree that Arnold Schwarzenegger isn't really a good actor, he is maybe the only one that could play the T-800 as good as he did!!
So after two rather disappointing movies there will be number 5!!

 no!! that can't be!! Instead of you (or many of you) I've always watched Schwarzenegger movies in german and lets just say I don't like his english voice very much!!
Of course he won't be playing a major "terminator-role" as in T2/T1 with 65 but according to what I've read he will be playing at least a supporting role.

He already played one in of one the earlier movies. He's an Army general but his voice is different, instead a scientist (or maybe it was a technician) has Arnie's actual voice. And somesuch.

There was something, a few years back, about CGI'ing dead actors into certain roles - presumably
something could (eventually) be done to put somebody into their younger selves ?
Arnie was perfectly cast in the original terminator.

Like that otherwise rubbish movie Surrogates which had extensive CGI "plastic surgery" on Bruce Willis. Or Captain America, where the hero starts out as a weedy CGI weakling and ends up all real muscles.
In any case, I don't see a problem with a Terminator being in disguise as an old, saggy, wrinkly, ageing action hero. It might work, it worked for Mickey Rourke. |
