|

| Quote: | It is fighting talk again from North Korea who say they will attack its neighbour and rival South Korea if Seoul joined a new round of tightened U.N. sanctions issued in response to the North's continued use of rocket and nuclear testing.
This broadcast on [North Korean] state TV goes one step further saying
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXpl8w_54qM#!]
"If the puppet group of traitors takes a direct part in the U.N. sanctions the DPRK will take strong physical counter-measures against it."
The U.S. envoy on South Korea policy seen here arriving in arrived in Beijing on the second leg his three-nation Asia tour,is in high level talks aimed at discussing follow-up actions on the rapidly developing situation on the Korean peninsula. And is expected to release a statement later today. |

From the last time that the DPRK went AWOL in the AHOLE:
| Quote: | The revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK standing guard over the inviolable territorial waters of the country took such decisive military step as reacting to the military provocation of the puppet group with a prompt powerful physical strike.
It is a traditional mode of counter-action of the army of the DPRK to counter the firing of the provocateurs with merciless strikes.
Should the south Korean puppet group dare intrude into the territorial waters of the DPRK even 0.001 mm, the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK will unhesitatingly continue taking merciless military counter-actions against it.
It should bear in mind the solemn warning of the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK that they do not make an empty talk. |
I thought I should bold the LOL worthy portions...deja vu? This was from around May 2012. I actually had the tail end of a newscast from that time and simply copied the text.
Plus, from 1999, same 0.001mm, same North Korean: BBC News to show it's happened before that. |

The world's on fire and we have a president focusing on disarming his own populous in violation of the 2nd amendment.

Yeah, but it's a rabid dog with nuclear weapons. It's not so much that they'd intentionally charge down a path to war; it's that sometimes, when you get into what you hope is just a shit-talking or shoving match, somebody ends up throwing a punch, and then all hell breaks loose. Many wars have started this way. This is especially likely to happen if one or more parties is not in their right mind to begin with or doesn't understand the cultural idiosyncrasies of the other. _________________ Oldthinkers unbellyfeel INGSOC.

Well, the world is getting more and more primed for an epic conflict and resource grab, and this time it might involve nukes. All you need is a spark, and when you look at NK dude's photos, with that idiotic face, you go "hope it's not this guy". |

The most likely scenario for war stemming from the North Korean standoff is China eventually using it as an excuse to justify military aggression. (E.g., DPRK invades some South Korean Island, US chases them off and secures it for S. Korean reoccupation, so China seizes disputed Islands off Japanese coast, or invades Taiwan or Vietnam or something.
But, you never know. Often what's intended to be a chess game of bluffs gets fucked up by practical realities on the ground (e.g., some patrol runs into an enemy patrol that's not where it was supposed to be, fighting breaks out, etc.). This is particularly likely when you have one side engaging in deliberately provocative actions, like sending their vessels "a little way" into enemy waters.
Just a couple years ago there was apparently some kind of an encounter that resulted in the sinking of a South Korean ship, with complete denial of involvement by the North Koreans. That, or the recent North Korean shelling of a South Korean island, could have easily ended up escalating. _________________ Oldthinkers unbellyfeel INGSOC.

It's more of a Winston Smith, I'd say, or maybe an Adolf Hitler, or an up-to-date version of the Mao or maybe the Pol Pot. Must be a fan of Socialism. _________________ Oldthinkers unbellyfeel INGSOC.
