hi,
Is it normal for midori to prepend save names of pages with invisible unicode?
At first I though it was a case of file corruption, because although files are listed with ls they are unviewable, mv or detectable in any fashion by any other programs. "ls <beginning of url> <tab>" won't autocomplete. Is not even picked up by cursor highlight. Well, there are tricks to view them but no user-friendly.
The character in question is this one <202a>

I wouldn't think that was normal. Would you mind pasting a directory listing? In the directory with the problematic files, runand then post the URL. If you haven't emerged wgetpaste yet, do so prior to running the above command.

So, I emerged Midori (current stable as you hadn't replied yet), and then, using it, went to Diego's blog, clicked on a particular blog entry and then right-clicked and selected "Save As". The file name I wrote was faithfully preserved on disk: no funny Unicode prefixed. How are you saving these files?
It's possible that this is a cut/paste artifact as U+202A is a zero width formatting control hint character. In other words, it may be present in the pasted text but you won't be able to see it at all if it is. Try typing a file name yourself and see if the problem persists.
Edit: This is a testing branch problem; the title isn't auto-pasted in the current stable version. In the testing branch version (which is, as I write this, 0.4.7) the auto-paste of the title has this artifact: the invisible character is present. Probably worth a Gentoo (or perhaps an upstream) bug report.
