RUSH - The Making Of Snakes and Arrows [720p Full]
31m53s: People are sometimes amused to find out the idea that drumming is actually painful.
(includes relevant parts leading up to the comment)

That segues into something else I noticed, and I'm wondering if it may be partly related to my feeling that Test for Echo and later aren't quite as good as their earlier stuff. 36m13s: Playing live together (not live as in touring). And in Neil Peart on 'Moving Pictures' Track By Track, notice when he says "in those days" (~5:29). There are some other similar examples I've noticed. Almost seems like "phoning it in"* in a literal sense, where they've reached a level of talent that they don't "need" to play together. * I don't mean that as critical as it sounds / is usually intended. I think the effort is there, but maybe the "organic" nature of playing together alters the result.

I've read others comment on producers, but for me, that isn't the issue, at least not entirely. Some think Brown was their only good era. I like Caress of Steel more than 2112 (CoS lead to their calling it the "Down the Tubes Tour" while 2112 was apparently their breakout album. I almost never listen to it.)
    Rush - Rush
    Fly by Night - Brown
    Caress of Steel - Brown
    2112 - Brown
A Farewell to Kings - Brown
    Hemispheres - Brown
    Permanent Waves - Brown
    Moving Pictures - Brown
    Signals - Brown

GUP, PW & HYF are ones I like a lot.
    Grace Under Pressure - Henderson
    Power Windows - Collins
    Hold Your Fire - Collins

I thought Presto was their most "commercial" sounding album. OK, but not my favorite. RtB is pretty strong. I enjoy it more when listening to it than when I think about it.
    Presto - Hine
    Roll the Bones - Hine

Counterparts is easily my favorite of their newer material, and on a short list of all time favorites.
    Counterparts - Collins

These. Disappoint. On TfE, Dog Years and Virtuality cause more damage than the rest of the material deserves. With VT, I like One Little Victory, but my interest plummets after that. Musically it is OK, but as songs, not so much. S&A is a lot better, but similar in that after the opening track Far Cry, my interest drops. Musically I enjoy the material, particularly the instrumentals. I'm still working on CA. It is an improvement, but I'd probably put it low on the list. Again, musically it is interesting.
    Test for Echo - Collins
    Vapor Trails - Northfield
    Snakes & Arrows - Raskulinecz
    Clockwork Angels - Raskulinecz

Nice.

Add this (some excellent blues evolution):

(That's Stevie Ray Vaughn, by the way, not Hendrix).

And some excellent Motown:

I think I have the album that's from: Live at the El Mocambo (sp?). Well I have all of his albums so it's somewhere

Merged both.

Looking forward to checking out the Collins video tomorrow. Shame about his injury, but looks like he may have recovered.

Injury appears to be hampering him quite a bit.

I prefer his solo career. IIRC, he talks about his injury in "Origins." And if I'm misremembering, it is still good :)

From his Motown covers album of the same name. Also, somewhat interesting is the 6 part (short) "behind the scenes." Part 1 of 6: Origins. Unfortunate that it seems he is unable to continue.

I'd give him enough credit to at least come up with something funny. More like this.

I think Lemme Smang It is a much better representation of how BK would direct a rap video.
