@pjp interesting
ad youtube sucks at playing html5: figured out that the few 100 or 1000 viewed videos play always but the million times viewed almost never. there is some shady algorithm in place. someone call an adobe flash exorcist.

Apparently this one has gone around the intertubes already but I hadn't heard it till now.

Bohemian Gravity

Very well-done on all levels: musical, lyrical, physical, and technical. And it is one of the better you-tubes, refreshingly free of compression artifacts. Especially recommended if you like particle physics.

Nice find, Akkara.

@Muso

Yep, a good one. I found her a while back after listening to some Pomplamoose (you may have heard them in this or this. If you check out any of their stuff, notice how the commercials were done in a similar manner as their videos. I thought that was kind of cool). Lauren and the woman from Pomplamoose do some stuff together as well. My Terrible Friend- I Started a Joke (the Bee Gees).

Oh, and I came here to post:

Holy crap!

Peter Hollens. Some Nights under "Example of my work" (scroll down a bit). I wasn't expecting to like it, but I really do.

The Buddy Rich Memorial Concert 2008
Quote:
3-DVD Disc Set with over 4.5 hours of all-star drummers and musicians including Neil Peart, Terry Bozzio, Tommy Igoe, Chad Smith, John Blackwell, Nick Rich, Peter Erskine, Efrain Toro, Will Lee and Jeff Berlin. CLICK TO WATCH TRAILER.
So far pretty good. It opens with Rich, then Igoe, then Blackwell. Haven't finished his performances yet. Primarily bought for Neil, but enjoying the other stuff so far.

YYZ is a good classic, but not his best. Maybe there were limits.
Quote:
Song List by Drummer:

- (JOHN BLACKWELL of Prince) No Jive, Nutville and Mind of J
- (NICK RICH) Beulah Witch and Mercy, Mercy, Mercy
- (TERRY BOZZIO of Frank Zappa) Machine, No Vacancy/Tuff 3 and Some Skunk Funk
- (PETER ERSKINE of Weather Report) Readymix
- (CHAD SMITH of Red Hot Chili Peppers) Dani California, Hocus Pocus and Birdland
- (NEIL PEART of Rush) Love For Sale, Time Will Tell, Cottontail/One O'Clock Jump and YYZ
- (TOMMY IGOE of Birdland Big Band) Preach & Teach, Little Train, The Chicken, Willowcrest and La Fiesta

Buddy Rich vs Neil Peart
(Never mind the vs part).

Buddy Rich & Jerry Lewis - Drum Solo Battle (1965)
(Buddy's portion is worth seeing, not too much Jerry up front).

Gene Krupa & Buddy Rich Famous Drum Battle

BUDDY RICH IMPOSSIBLE DRUM SOLO *HQ*
(I like what Rich can do with cymbals when he's focusing on just playing those. Interesting sounds).

Buddy Rich Double Bass Drum Solo 1949 NY Paramount
(That's it, just the two, nothing else).

Dissing the kids these days

RUSH In Rio - Neil Peart Drum Solo "O Baterista"

Rush - YYZ - Neil Peart cam (dvd Rush in Rio)
(Infamous crowd "sing along" with an instrumental).

lol wrote:
The members of Rush have noted that people "either love Rush or hate Rush", resulting in strong detractors and an intensely loyal fan base. In July 2008, Rolling Stone commented that "Rush fans are the Trekkies/trekkers of rock".

EDIT:
