Hey all.

I've a new machine and just installed gentoo on it with no real problems.

However both my wired and wireless devices, both detected just fine, are named very silly names.

instead of eth0 and wlan0 i have unintelligible names.

I realize that this is a udev thing.

How can I fix this.

Good guess. You have plenty threads that explain it, for now i will only gave the easy hint as you seems good enough to manage it.
Code:
eselect news list
eselect read + id of the news name "Upgrading udev to version >=200"
If you need more help, don't hesitate
