Wow. I wonder why homicide rates would increase with more gun control. Or is this a Democrat increase, where the rates actually go down, but are proportionally higher among blacks.?

| Statistics are great for proving all sorts of things out of context. It's how governments win or lose by proving their "facts" are true using statistics cleverly crafted to circumvent anything that proves the contrary. It's also how interest groups try to drown out their opposition by flooding them with meaningless figures that have no correlation with reality. |

It depends on the denominator of the "rate" and whether a "<foo> homicide" is a homicide by, or of, a foo.

It's somewhat revealing that you feel compelled to mention this now, though, rather than when somebody is spewing their nonsense about how allowing your government to disarm the people is somehow a smart thing to do.

I was belittling statistics in general, I don't honestly care how many/few guns you guys have.
I've never been armed and guns have never been a part of life here, not for at least 100 years. |

Yeah, and you foreigners think guns are way popular here too, but they're not. We're Americans; we like iPhones, missing blonde teenage girls, WalMart, McDonalds, Barack Obama, fake wrestling, and bling. Guns are way down on the list somewhere near nacho-tacos and feminine odor products.

have you looked at crime rates? it plummets when you go into VA. is there something in the air in virginia? why do virginians commit so much less crime than DC and MD residents?
also, there are 2 gun stores in northern virginia... one is 20 min from DC if you're coming from upper class georgetown and there's no traffic. the other is an hour away. |

northern VA has tons of skyscrapers, but a crime that's a fraction of both baltimore and DC. the answer to why baltimore is still a festering shithole, why northern VA has virtually no crime outside the section 8 housing in alexandria, and why DC turned from murder capitol of the US to not even being on the top 10 list is really an inconvenient truth... i'll give you 3 guesses. |
