Hi,
I like(ed) using media-tv/tvtime v1.0.3 for my analog tv grabber card a long time.
Since tvtime refused to start because lack of libpng v1.5 capabilities I used xawtv because it refuses to build against current libpng and there was no update for tvtime so far.
Today I was googling for tvtime and libpng and found
http://sources.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/gentoo-x86/media-tv/tvtime/files/tvtime-libpng-1.5.patch?view=diff&r1=text&tr1=1.1&r2=text&tr2=1.1&diff_format=s
I confirm that it is only a single line needed to be added to one file, it compiles then and it runs fine at my x86_64 host.
I am no gentoo ebuild maintainer, whom should I ask to patch it and offer it to the gentoo sources tree? _________________ --

AFAIK, upstream stopped releasing in 2005 with 1.0.2, where do you get 1.0.3 from ?
What do you mean ?
Of course you realize that the link points to a patch which is actually applied in the tvtime-1.0.2_p20110131-r3.ebuild of portage's tree.
Do you think that something else is needed ?

The preferred first way is to fill a bug at https://bugs.gentoo.org/ _________________

Now I see, thanks.
tvtime v1.3.0 comes from a local overlay I have totally forgotten about. I think I did something which is now obsolete.
Compiling and running media-tv/tvtime-1.0.2_p20110131-r3 is just fine.
Thank you for helping to see. _________________ --
