McCain lost, followed by Romney. The Republican Establishment is circling the wagons from the TEA party invasion. Democrats continue to expand their Trinkets for Votes program. The Federal Reserve printing presses would have burned out their bearings were they not printing digital currency. _________________ lolgov. 'cause where we're going, you don't have civil liberties.

It's one of those rare occasions when congress actually spends money on something mandated by the actual constitution. _________________ If I had a dollar for every time capitalism was blamed for the problems caused by government, I'd be a fat filmmaker with a baseball cap |

I'm coming to the conclusion that the US constitution does everything. It won every war that the US has fought, it's brought peace to the Middle East, it's squashed the national debt, it saved the car industry, it stopped the illicit drug trade, it brought equality to black Americans. It's so great they write songs about it! I want the US constitution's babies, or to let it bone me up the arse if it's male. I especially like the fact the US constitution allows citizens FREE PEACHES! and the right to farm BEARS!!!111

While Chopinzee is correct that defense is one of the few things the Feds are mandated to do, our military spending is more in line with global hegemony than defense of North America. _________________ I am not young enough to know everything.

| True, but the F-35 updates a bunch of different obsolete models with a single hardware platform. |

with the cost of one(!) plane you could repair hundreds of miles of roads, build a whole bunch of schools, repair a couple of bridges or fund a shitload of research.... _________________

As a western European, you should keep your mouth shut, considering the US has subsidized European defense for 60 fucking years! _________________ I am not young enough to know everything.

you mean keeping the fire burning under that pot called 'arms race' that was imagnary straight from the beginning? yeah, thanks for that.. really. Thumbs up. I am sure all those people who died when their Starfighter fell from the sky are really happy about it. _________________

Yeah, yeah. If it wasn't for the US VII Corp the Warsaw Pact would have rolled through the Fulda Gap and reunified Germany decades before The Wall ever came down. _________________ I am not young enough to know everything.

no, they wouldn't. For there was nothing to gain.
Either way, Muso's distraction is just that. All those crap does not excuse wasting billions on a fighter plane that is not needed at all. Money that could be spent more usefully or even better not at all. _________________

Just ask your senators and governors from your southern states why all their heroic attempts to bring your troops home fail instantly with the proposal. Thanks. Happy New Year! |

Because the local Europeans scream bloody murder when they find out how much their economy will suffer.
I've wanted to bring our troops home from Europe for decades now. You freeloading fuckers can pay for your own police state.
Well, come to think of it.... your economy is so fucked, you can't. _________________ I am not young enough to know everything.
