Hello.
I have hp pavilion g6 notebook with gentoo.
But i have a problem - only fn+f2 and fn+f3(brightness up and brightness down) work good.
Only xev see other keys(fn+F1, fn+F4 etc), but dmesg and acpi_listen say nothing.
I try to enable hp_wmi module, but itsn't work. And code of this module didn't contain support of this keys(only for brightness).
Which kernel's modules i need for multimedia keys?
I think, that xmodmap is not a good solution, because this solution for X.(i prefer the solution with acpi if it possible)
http://pastebin.com/T8Fii09N my kernel config.
Thanks.
UPD. with acpi_backlight=vendor acpi_listen see fn+f2/f3 keys.
with acpi=off acpi_listen see all keys, except fn+f2/f3 and X crashes( |

Firstly, try running showkeys in the console. It will also show key values and is what I prever to xev.
Secondly, you may find that some of them are inaccessible. I also have an hp and the brightness and screen do not show up as they are linked into the bios directly. The system handles their behavior by hardware and does not appear to generate a key event at least not one I have trapped. I also have two multimedia keys that I can't seem to assign because they were designed for hp's multimedia player software and are not bound to any event by the kernel.
Having said that there are guides to binding unknown keys out there but you may need to do some more fancy hacking to make them work. _________________ Linux, the OS for the obsessive-compulsive speed freak in all of us. |
