Hello everyone. After installing xorg, gnome, and nvidia drivers (all stable, GNOME 2.32.1, nvidia 304.64) and logging in using GDM, I get a wierd flashing colors filling the whole monitor for about 1 second. Afterwards, my wallpaper + gnome panels appear and it works normally. I do, however have metacity in compositing mode, turning it off removes the strange behavior, but i'd like to keep it on. I can't seem to find anything useful online on this topic. Should I file a bug report? Or is this some known downfall?
Thank you. |

That's nothing to worry about. I would just ignore it and not even consider it a problem. It happens to me, too. It's probably just the nvidia driver sorting things out. As long as it doesn't stick that way, it's good. _________________ Gentoo Studio: http://gentoostudio.org
