Hello everyone,
I didn't find it anywhere else (except the russion gentoo site, but there wasn't any problem solution to it -- as far as I could find out using google translate).
Problem: glibc won't install with "ln failed unexpectedly". The exact error line is (the other emerge output wouldn't help that much, I guess, hence I stripped it):
Code: |
ln: failed to create hard link ‘/var/tmp/portage/sys-libs/glibc-2.16.0/image/usr/lib/debug/usr/lib32/libmcheck.a.debug’: File exists
|
I tried to install it with "emerge --newuse --oneshot glibc".
I just enabled the debug USE flag for glibc as well as splitdebug in make.conf's FEATURE list. Though it isn't a compilation problem: gcc-version is 4.7.2.
If you can point me in the right direction, I might be able to solve the problem
Cheers! |

I can reproduce the problem. My `emerge --info`: http://bpaste.net/show/67928/ |

@MaskRay
Works for me with CFLAGS="-mtune=native -O2 -pipe". Have you tried building with such "conservative" flags? |

With such conservative CFLAGS (http://bpaste.net/show/68259/), sys-libs/glibc-2.16.0 still fails to emerge. Here's the build log: http://bpaste.net/show/68260/ . |

@MaskRay
Have you also enabled the debug flag for glibc?
In either case, plase create a bug report at https://bugs.gentoo.org, attach your `emerge --info` and the complete build log. |
