I just did a clean install of a new system, and I ran into something strange when configuring mysql. I typed:
Code: | emerge --config =dev-db/mysql-5.1.66 |
And the output was:

But when I just typed:
Code: | /etc/init.d/mysql start |
It started fine. What's going on here? _________________ Alex Zorach | Teacology | RateTea | Why This Way |

Any clues in mysql's log file?
Have you tried executing the command line in question directly, maybe with slightly modified parameters? _________________ lxg.de – codebits and tech talk |
