everybody with half a brain knows that. But drugs are much more lucrative if they are illeagal. And some of the profit goes into the pockets of those who keep them that way. _________________

Drugs have to be legal and taxed. The money raised from drugs should be used to help people with rehabilitation. |
Taxation will only lead to stagnation in the drug market and increase the price for consumers. Drugs should be legalized so drug kingpins will become billionaires and donate to help the poors.
I watched a presentation of this on tv yesterday:
http://www.worldcrunch.com/world-affairs/when-the-king-of-cocaine-built-the-general-motors-of-drug-trafficking/trafficking-drug-kingpin-roberto-suarez/c1s10252/#.ULieZc9sE5A
| Quote: | At its peak, Suárez Gómez’s Bolivian operation brought in an estimated $400 million a year. The kingpin was so well known at the time that U.S. film director Brian De Palma is believed to have used him as the inspiration for one of the characters in his film “Scarface,” which starred Al Pacino. And yet years later, when Suárez Gómez’s family asked about the fortune he presumably left behind, they were told there was no money.
“The money was spent. It never accumulated in checking accounts or in banks. It was redistributed among the poor communities in western Bolivia, like my father wanted,” says Gary, recalling how Suárez Gómez helped develop areas of the jungle by financing the construction of hospitals and housing developments, and installing drinking water and electricity. |

| I expect to be left alone if I chose to put whatever drug into my bloodstream, but I can't bring myself to support full legalization, a.k.a commercialization. |

Then quit bitching about corrupt drug policies. After all it is the State which legislates, enforces, and convicts.

If you don't trust the paper, get goods. | Hmm, goods. That might be better. Because if the US economy collapses, I'm not sure very many will survive unscathed.
