Explain your avatar

Exactly what it says, what is it, why did you pick it... and while we are at it, can we go ahead and start poorly photoshopping (in our case, gimping) Santa hats on them?

Mine is a very old image of me at a club, I had my regular and facial hair colored green and I thought it looked cool. I applied a few colorizing filters and the hair turned pink and the skin turned a deep blue, so I went with it.

mine is bubbles from the trailer park boys, a canadian tv show. When I chose the avatar 8 years ago, I was watching it quite regularly. now its a reminder of my canadian past.

During the old OTW days when cokehabit was ruling, there was a Hitler avatar week, I realized mine with gimp, the idea was not entirely mine, I copied the Hitler smiley from a sticker used by local neonazi, but I added a joint in his mouth to keep some political distance ...
It means probably absolutely nothing, I liked it and stick with it.

EDIT: I can't put an hat on my avatar since it is already only a few bytes under the filesize limit for avatar images set by gentoo admins ..

My avatar is an existential statement.
Of all the billions of possible images, I chose none. I chose not to link myself to an image and the mental associations it creates for its viewers. It is a visualization of the void that has filled so many aspects of our lives and is my silent protest against the shallowness of the society we live in.

…but of course we can edit a funny hat onto it.

Mine is an image I made myself using gimp or MS paint (I honestly cannot remember it was too long ago) that was supposed to fit my handle. It's supposed to look like a slightly tweaked and mostly unstable skeletal dude.

Bonez was my nickname throughout school pre-internet era, and my group of friends had once been called the "Goon Squad" which was meant as an insult but we adopted ourselves because we liked it.

Once I started trying to use "Bonez" as an online handle it became all too clear that way too many others were trying to do the same, so I decided I needed some kind of qualifier on it to distinguish myself from the others and I tacked on "the Goon" because of my old Goon Squad membership and because I try to not take myself too seriously. I felt it somewhat conveyed that stance, so I went with it. Then like I already said the avatar was designed by me to try and fit the handle.

gosh i havn't been here in ages. was about to install gentoo after years of not touching it and wondered about OTW. turns out it's the SAME FUCKING PEOPLE AS ALWAYS. lol.

EDIT: found it! it was a thread about christmas hats on avatars started by cokehabit a few years back. i put a menorah on my brock avatar then things got weird...
