Twitch.tv streams not working, other sites (YT, Vimeo) AOK

Hello. Since the beginning of my Gentoo experience, I've found helpful docs, good tools, and other stuff that makes this distro awesome. However, I can't seem to figure out why http://twitch.tv streams won't work. I have the latest adobe-flash installed (both 64-bit and 32-bit) and when I go to a page of theirs that has a stream, all I get is a black or beige box. I can right click on the box and I get Flash's context menu, but that's it. It won't load the actual stream. For the record, I have ffmpeg installed. What's most peculiar is I've asked other Gentooers if it works for them, and it does. That tells me it's an issue with my system somehow, and I don't know where to begin troubleshooting it. I've deleted /etc/adobe/mms.cfg and remerged Flash to see if that solved anything. No dice. I've searched the Web for similar issues, no dice. I've tried installing and using gnash, no dice. I've tried Firefox's safe mode (which disables extensions), and still no dice!

I'm at my wits end. Any ideas? I'll provide any information that's needed.

EDIT: I have tried rebuilding firefox with the gstreamer use flag. I installed gstreamer and gst-plugin-rtmp since that's what type of streams Twitch uses. Still nothing. ustream.tv and niconico work just fine. Twitch seems to be the only streaming site that won't work. And it's the one I need to work! ugh...

If twitch streams work for you, please give me an overview of your system, with USE flags, etc. Whatever it is Twitch needs to stream, I don't seem to have it.

Twitch and NicoNico work for me, ustream doesn't though...also the forum went down while I was posting this, lucky I could go back and copy/paste!

Thanks for the info, Yggdrasil. I tried the USE flags that didn't involve kde and applied them to my builds, and Twitch still refuses to work. This is really odd!

Have you tried another browser? There's a small possibility that it could work, though I doubt it. You might want to look into Mozilla's alpha replacement for flash called Shumway: https://blog.mozilla.org/research/2012/ ... e-project/ though I have no idea if that would go any better.

I don't know what you would do to debug flash, I've found a couple links but none seem too promising.
