Hi, ALL,
In the Portage there is "gtk-engines-qt" package.
Google hosts "gtk-qt-engine": http://code.google.com/p/gtk-qt-engine/
Are those the same? I need to have a latter.
Do I need to be in GNOME or KDE in order to see this applied?
Thank you. |

It doesn't look like it.
Gives details about two packages:
Code: | * x11-themes/gtk-engines-qtcurve
Available versions: 1.6.4 1.8.15 ~1.8.15-r1 {{firefox3 mozilla}}
Homepage: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=40492
Description: A set of widget styles for GTK2 based apps, also available for Qt4/KDE4
* x11-themes/gtk-engines-qtpixmap
Available versions: 0.28-r2
Homepage: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=7043
Description: A modified version of the original GTK pixmap engine which follows the KDE color scheme

The first is actively developed, and may well do what you want. The second is old, for Gtk 1.x, and probably not what you want. Looking at the package on google, it also looks like nothing has been developed since 2009.
To answer your other question - I guess you need to be in kde and running gtk applications to see the impact. |
