Hello,

I would like to get rid of Java and the Arduino IDE, which is useless for me (I don't like it).

I saw there is arduino-core, which is all the Arduino libs without Java:
http://packages.debian.org/sid/arduino-core

and arduino-mk, the utilities:
http://packages.debian.org/sid/arduino-mk
source at: https://github.com/sudar/Arduino-Makefile

Is there an ebuild for them? I don't find them in DDG/Google

I could help to build it, but I'm not an ebuild developer.

Something like that, indeed !
I will try to adapt it to latest version, bump it, and will try to create an ebuild for arduino-mk, which is not part of Arduino official sources.

I took a look at the arduino ebuilds from zugaina, but they are quite outdated. I will create a new arduino-core ebuild based on the latest version in the Portage three, and create a simple arduino-makefile ebuild.

I've read the Gentoo Development Guide: it's well written, I see how to do what I want.

(later, I could write MIDIbox related ebuilds too).

+Submit your ebuilds on #gentoo-sunrise
I don't mean you are not capable of doing the things right on your own, I just say that the guys there are just... magic and very helpful in aiding you to get gentoo-dev-quality ebuilds.
(take care to have an appreciable quantity of beer close to your keyboard if you happen to work with hasufell... that... should not be a problem in Brussels...)

Yep, my goal was to submit the ebuilds. I don't want to be a developer for now. So yes, I will submit the ebuilds to Sunrise or b.g.o ;)
(and to pro-audio for the MIDIbox ebuilds)
