I am not sure when the problem started, but everytime I try to start wicd-curses it gives me error output. My laptop will still connect to wifi for networks that wicd has stored to connect to automatically, I just can't use the curses interface. Here's my error output:
Code:

I can think of two things, offhand:

1. Check eselect python to make sure you are NOT set to python 3.

2. Recompile python.

I forgot to mention, I have re-emerged python and wicd and their dependencies, I have eselected python 2.7, I have done python-updater and nothing seems to do the trick. I have also done a sync and world update.

Getting the same error, after I tinker I'll update this post. I believe something updated recently and broke it, I'll file a bug report if no one else does.

EDIT: Note, wicd-gtk does work

Does using a different version of wicd "solve" this? If so, it could either be a bug or an incompatibility with some lib or maybe python.

dev-python/urwid-1.1.0 breaks current wicd-curses.

And unmerging dev-python/urwid-1.1.0 and going back to dev-python/urwid-1.0.2 fixed the problem. Thanks a bunch for the replies! My wicd-curses was out for a few days and now it's good :)
