Not anymore. Cuba's government has officially granted all Cubans the right to travel. Not that most could afford it, but that is another story.

As of when? That makes me happy btw...for no other reason than oppressed people gaining freedom.

Cuba has not given all citizens the right to travel. They only took away one impediment. There are still regulations regarding who can and cannot leave the country.

Is that why US Americans must not travel to Cuba?

Well nevermind, the Redskins lost today, so Romney's gonna win.

PPP is now saying 50% people will vote Obama, 47% Romney nationally.

one thing for sure: I will win. No matter which ass clown becomes president the resulting clusterfuck will be of epic proportions.

In other news: I am thinking about buying a popcorn machine.

Doesn't matter. Electoral votes are what counts. I'm going over polls. Way too many states are in the margin of error.

EDIT: I've been going over polling data. The deciding state will be Florida. I Obama loses this, he has to take both Wisconsin and Ohio to defeat Romney.

I'm very disheartened that could be a Good Thing. I'm going to be very upset if Romney becomes the activist Republican version of Obama.

New Scientist called it way back at the start of October. Since then, there's been a bounce from Sandy.

Obama was definitely beatable if only the GOP could find a strong candidate. This they were utterly unable to do and I don't see that changing for a long time to come - which is good news for Hillary.

I wouldn't know who to vote for tbh. One one hand you have idiot Obama and bullshit democratic party which talks high, but it always results in tax opression, and increased government. On the other hand you have 16th century religious loonies who are struggling to compress real world into religious black and white biblical paradigm. Total fuckup.

Out of curiosity, what do you think could be defined as a strong candidate? Not you personally, of course, but instead of Romney for the GOP?

Extremism simply makes this impossible. For example, it's career suicide to mention climate change but further weather disasters will make the voting public increasingly uncomfortable with this anti-scientific bigotry.

Oh please. Mitt was chosen precisely because he won't/can't win. The Republicans have always won by playing to the fundagelical base. Fundagelicals will never be excited to vote for a 'cultist' Mormon. That was hint number one as to what to expect and this was known LONG ago. Add to that the greater than 50% support amongst the population for gay marriage and the fact Mitt is against gay marriage and you have strike two. (What is the point of taking a position that YOU KNOW less than half of the population supports?) Add to that his immigration stance ("he opposes most proposals for a pathway to legalization for people who are here illegally" and there goes the Latino vote.

Look folks, this isn't rocket science. Whose campaign did the 1% toss the most money to in the last presidential election? That is who won. Whose campaign has the 1% tossed the most money to in this presidential campaign? That is who will win THIS election.

And if you have no idea who the 1% have 'christened' as the next president by purchasing the election, I strongly suggest you acquaint yourself with opensecrets.org whose information on campaign donations told the exact same story in the last election.

I like how so many lemmings flap their lips about this election like it's obviously going to go one way or the other, regurgitating from their drippy pie-holes the talking points of whatever propaganda source has pickled their brains.

All indications are that this is an extremely close election. The most salient unknown is Democrat voter turnout, because of their severe drop in enthusiasm between 2008 and 2012. It could go either way.

People saying otherwise are either propagandists trying to influence the election via "self-fulfilling prophecy" tactics or are naive, ignorant propaganda victims themselves.

In the closely-contested battleground states, there could be long recounts and legal battles. It could be weeks before we know the outcome, which might come down to Justice Roberts doing a couple shots of Jack Daniels and flipping a coin.

Hot air. You won't take the avatar bet, will you, even if I offer you odds of three weeks to my three months? You know what's going to happen.

I'm the one who challenged you, remember? I said, if you're as confident as you pretend to be, then commit to humiliation if you're wrong. And you backed down. I am not confident in the outcome or pretending to be, so challenging me to a "bet" is senseless and nothing but an obvious attempt to cover up your own actual lack of confidence. :?

Also, I wasn't talking specifically about you there, but I'm pleased that you felt compelled to respond, thereby acknowledging that you "resemble the remark".

It's Tuesday Nov 6.

I call this thread official post-election thread. In other words I call dibs.

Obama.

This election had an important lesson for freedom-loving Americans: the government always wins!

The government will never allow somebody like Mittens to win because he would bring back the gold standard, pay back the national debt and end all taxes. The government.
