heres how its setup. I have my boot as /dev/hda1 my normal /dev/hda5 swap /dev/hda6 and files as /dev/hdb1
everytime that I try to root (hd0,0) in grub I get some babble about the filesystem made or so with ex2fs or something and then it also says something about the partition being 0x83 type. what do I do to get this to work, I am running an ext3 filesystem and I have the kernel in the right place in the boot directory. |

Perhaps give us more info?
Those things that grub says are correct for ext3.
How far did you get with the grub setup?
And why do you think that grub doesn’t work?
