I am running xfce4 and awesome in my laptop. Not at the same time. using awesome is for curiosity and some special use. But the fonts in applications are not the same.
for example, in xfce4, the letters are comfortable in rhythmbox and thunar. but in awesome, they are ugly, so thin.
I want to know how to change that please, especially in awesome.

Thanks very much

There is no settings-daemon running background when you start Awesome. Check this page:
http://en.gentoo-wiki.com/wiki/Awesome#Additional_Configuration

and especially "with xfce4" part.

If you don't want to use settings-daemon with Awesome, you may have to create your own ~/.fonts.conf and ~/.gtkrc-2.0

Thanks a lot. But these codes don't work. I even can't start my awesome with them. I think these codes are old and not compatible with the present awesome.

~/.fonts.conf maybe a good solution, I will try later. However I still want to see my xfce4 theme run under awesome.
